Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how SailBuild (“SailBuild”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects information in connection with your use of sailbuild.com and the call booking it offers (together, the “Site”).

This Policy should be read together with our Terms. By booking a call or contacting us, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

• Booking information: your name and email address, and, if you choose to give them, your company name and a note describing what you are building.
• Scheduling information: the time slot you select and the timezone your browser reports, so the invitation and confirmation show the right time.
• Communications: anything you send us by email, and our replies.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• IP address: recorded with a booking and used only to limit how many calls one person can book, so the calendar cannot be filled by a single visitor.
• Server logs: standard, short-lived request logs kept by our hosting provider for reliability and security.

1.3 What we do not collect

The Site has no user accounts and no passwords. We take no payments and hold no card details. We run no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind, and we do not buy, enrich or append data about you from other sources.

2. How we use information

• To arrange, confirm and hold the call you booked, including creating the calendar entry and sending the confirmation.
• To reply to you, and to continue a conversation you started.
• To detect and prevent abuse of the booking system, and to keep the Site working.
• To comply with legal obligations that apply to us.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or cross-context behavioural advertising.

3. How we share information

We may share information with:

• Service providers: hosting, database, scheduling and calendar, and email delivery providers that process information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations, and only to the extent needed to run the Site and the booking.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
• Legal and safety purposes: where required to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, or protect the rights, property or safety of SailBuild, our clients or others.
• With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with other clients. A current list of the providers we use is available on request.

4. Data retention

• Booking records: retained for 24 months, then deleted. A cancelled call keeps its record but releases the time.
• Email: retained while the conversation is useful, and deleted on request.
• Server logs: retained for the short period set by our hosting provider.

You may ask us to delete your information sooner, as described in Section 6.

5. Cookies and tracking technologies

The Site sets no cookies and uses no tracking technologies, so there is no cookie banner and nothing to consent to. Two values are stored by your own browser and never transmitted to us: whether you switched the sound on, and whether the opening sequence has already played. Clearing your browsing data removes both.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on the law that applies where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the information we hold about you;
• correct or update it;
• request its deletion;
• object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
• receive a copy of it in a portable format;
• withdraw consent, where our use of it rests on consent.

To exercise any of these, email hello@sailbuild.com. We respond within the period required by the law that applies to you, and usually within a few days. We do not charge for this, and asking costs you nothing else either.

Where the law requires us to identify a legal basis for holding your information, we rely on the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, which is arranging the call you asked for, and on our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and keeping the Site working.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you may complain to the data protection or privacy authority in your country.

7. Data security

Traffic to the Site is encrypted in transit. Booking records are held in a database that is not publicly readable, and the keys that can read or write it stay on the server and are never sent to your browser. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any relevant authority as required by law.

8. International data transfers

SailBuild operates from India, and the service providers described in Section 3 may process and store information in other countries. Where information is transferred out of the country you are in, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses in each provider’s terms, so that it keeps a comparable level of protection. Ask us which region a given service runs in and we will tell you.

9. Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for business use and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

10. Third-party links and services

The Site and our emails may link to services we do not control, such as the video conferencing platform used to hold the call. This Policy does not apply to them, and we encourage you to read their own privacy policies.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. The date above shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects anyone who has already booked a call, we will tell them rather than quietly edit this page.
